“Every Need is Sweet” opens the “Sharjah Offers” program on November 4th

The Sharjah Art Foundation will open the activities of the “Sharjah Shows” program on Friday 4 November, at the heritage house of Obaid Al Shamsi, with the play “Every Need is Good” directed by Ahmed Al Attar and starring Nanda Muhammad.

The first activities of the “Sharjah Shows” program, organized by the Sharjah Art Foundation, will be launched on Friday 4 November, at the Heritage House in Obaid Al Shamsi, with the play “Every Need is Good” directed by Ahmed Al Attar, and starring by Nanda Mohammed.

The play will take place as part of a series of contemporary and avant-garde artistic performances, which will span seventeen show nights, from the beginning of November 2022 until the beginning of January 2023.

Written in 2013 by English author Duncan Macmillan, this comedy quickly became one of the most successful screenplays of the last decade, performed in theaters around the world and translated into Arabic and directed by Ahmed Al Attar.

The show revolves around a mother living in depression and the desire to commit suicide, which affects her family, especially her daughter, played by Syrian actress Nanda Muhammad.This show depends on the performance skills of an actress on an empty stage. with few accessories and music The actress reconciles the flow of the story with the energy of the audience invited to participate and improvise.

Although the theme of the show is complex and full of emotions, the audience comes out with a positive, cheerful and hopeful energy.

Ahmed Al-Attar is a freelance director and playwright, founder and artistic director of Al-Mabed Group for Independent Theater and Al-Mashreq Company for Film and Theater Production, as well as founder and general manager of Emad El-Din Studio Foundation, which offers spaces for artist performances in Cairo for rehearsals, residencies and training.

Al-Attar holds a BA in Theater from the American University of Cairo, a Masters in Arts and Cultural Management from the University of Paris III – New Sorbonne and received a Chevening Scholarship under the Clore Entrepreneurship program in United Kingdom.

As for Nanda Muhammad, she graduated from the acting department at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, in Damascus, and worked with many theater directors inside and outside Syria, such as: Omar Abu Saada (Syria), Ariane Mnuushkin and Pascal Rambert (France) and Tim Sable (UK).

Nanda has presented many roles and works of art in international festivals and theater venues such as: Avignon Festival, Edinburgh International Festival, Autumn Festival, Lyft Festival, Lincoln Center, Shizuoka International Theater Festival, Consten Arts Festival, La Patti Festival, Arena del Sol , Teatro Festival Naples, Osasia Festival, Hong Kong Arts Festival, Singapore International Arts Festival and numerous other major festivals and theaters have recently been awarded the Knight’s Order of Arts and Letters by the French Ministry of Culture

In addition to his theatrical activity, he has participated in many Syrian and Egyptian dramas, the most recent of which was (Blout Al-Ruh) 2022.
