Every hot dog you eat reduces your life expectancy by 36 minutes, according to a new study

For most people, living a long and healthy life is a major goal. And if you are among them, then it would be good to give up sausages and hot dogs.

According to a new study, every hot dog you eat can cut precious minutes out of your life. Researchers at the University of Michigan, USA, analyzed more than 5,800 foods and classified them according to their health effects, such as increased risk of ischemic heart disease, colorectal cancer and other cardiovascular diseases.

Scientists have found that when 10 percent of the daily calorie intake from processed meat is replaced with fruits, vegetables, nuts and seafood, life expectancy can be extended by 48 minutes a day. This change is also beneficial for the environment, being able to reduce the carbon footprint by up to 33%.
