Everton Ribeiro has agreed to leave after almost 7 years at the club
Everton Ribeiro’s goodbye to Flamengo is about to become official. Internally, all bureaucratic issues are aligned, and the midfielder will sign with Bahia. The player’s intention was to remain at Fla, however, there was no agreement to renew his contract, thus culminating in the end of the contract. Now, close to starting history at a new club, the former number 7 will say goodbye to Ninho do Urubu this Saturday (06).
Flamengo’s idea is to pay a series of tributes internally, to thank the athlete for the services provided. It is also worth noting that Everton Ribeiro will also have the opportunity to say goodbye to the fans at Maracanã. This is because there is an agreement for the athlete to go to the team’s first game at the stadium in 2024. The player will have a ceremony with cups and tributes on the pitch, before the match.
During the 6 and a half years he was at Flamengo, Everton won 11 titles. In most of them, won since 2019, the player was one of the team captains. Now, even with the departure of the midfielder, the squad closes the cycle of captains who won the second championship of the Libertadores. This is because Diego Ribas and Diego Alves had already said goodbye to Fla at the end of 2022.
DE LA CRUZ ARRIVES TO TAKE THE VACANCY, BUT FLA WANTS MORE REINFORCEMENTS
With the departure of Everton Ribeiro, Flamengo is in the market to fill the squad’s needs. Even before reaching an agreement for the idol to remain, Fla was already making moves to reinforce the environment. Proof of this is that, still in 2023, Uruguayan Nicolas De La Cruz signed a contract and was announced by the club.
Now, with more caution, Rubro-Negro is investigating other options and still wants at least one more player to compete for position in the sector. In the midst of this, one of the names investigated is Evander, a 25-year-old midfielder, who currently plays for the Portland Timbers (USA).
