The city offers several events for this Memorial Day holiday.
The Intrepid Air, Sea and Space Museum holds its annual ceremony for veterans and active members of the military. It is expected for Mayor de Blasio’s participation there.
And in Queens, the Catholic War Veterans organization hosts a mass and parade honoring fallen heroes.
The event is at St. Sebastian’s Church in Woodside. The parade then continues at the Vietnam Memorial.
Later in the day, the New York Philharmonic will hold the 29th edition of its annual Memorial Day concert.
The ceremony begins at 7 pm, at St. John’s Cathedral in Manhattan.
Only fully vaccinated people will be allowed to sit in the chairs outdoors.
