Mariana Ghițulescu, the manager of the “Elvira Godeanu” Dramatic Theater, since February of this year, managed to “win” the first role, after about 11 years, following a casting organized by the theater she manages.

The manager will play the role of Mrs. Baker in the play “Fluturii sunt liberi”, directed by Alejandro Duran, which arrived at the theater following the actress Voica Oltean, recently brought to the theater in Târgu Jiu by Mariana Ghițulescu. Three other actresses with more experience than Mariana Ghițulescu participated in the so-called casting, but not surprisingly, the role was won by the theater manager.

The casting also took part: Monica Sfetcu, Rodica Gugu Negrescu and Mădălina Ciobănuc.

Mariana Ghițulescu has played only 18 roles. She has not had any role since 2012, when she left the theater in Târgu Jiu, Mariana Ghițulescu being a teacher at the “Dinu Lipatti” National College of Arts in Bucharest.

Since he came to the management of the theater in Târgu Jiu, scandals are the order of the day, so a third of the employees left. Around 15 employees, actors, playwrights, PR managers and other employees, left the theater. Among them is the great actor Radu Botar, awarded for the roles he played.

The actors have complained on several occasions about the despotic behavior of Mariana Ghițulescu, who is like a mistress in the cultural institution.
