Focusing on two projects, which contribute to the achievement of the goal of climate neutrality by 2030, the Municipality of Ioannita is organizing an informational event for organizations and citizens on Monday at noon.
Specifically, at the event entitled “The green and sustainable future of our city”, participants will have the opportunity to be informed about the regeneration of Pyrros Square and the reuse of the Spiritual Center of Katsikas, within the framework of the Development and Solidarity program for Self-Government ” Antonis Tritsis” 2020-2023.
In particular, the “Katsika Spiritual Center” will be transformed into a multi-purpose space for the support and promotion of cultural creation with venues for theatrical performances, concerts, screenings and speeches, multiple event halls, exhibition spaces, training rooms, etc.
The reconstruction project of Pyrrhos Square aims to create a meeting place friendly to all, combining on the one hand the traditional character of the city and on the other the modern face of the Municipality of Ioannina.
These projects will be a pole of attraction for residents and visitors as well as a cradle of artistic and cultural creation while they will contribute to the urban regeneration of the place with the aim of improving the quality of life in the city. At the same time, they are a milestone in the path of Ioannina towards sustainability and green development, as one of the 100 climate-neutral and smart cities in Europe by 2030, “Ioannina 2030”.
The event will take place in the meeting room of the Municipal Council of Ioannina.
