BUSINESS. The La Nouvelle-Beauce Young Business People’s Evening, organized by Développement économique Nouvelle-Beauce (DENB), took place on Wednesday, November 17 at the Caztel Center in Sainte-Marie. The event was an opportunity to present six new businesses from the region to some 240 members of the business community, in addition to paying tribute to the Miller Zoo journey in Frampton.
“We have a bit of the impostor syndrome, because we have always done it out of passion. At first, we were made to laugh at us a bit, but no matter the field, there are always people who try to discourage us. If you believe in what you do, enthusiasts will join you. A ton of people supported us and you deserve this award as much as we do. […] To succeed, it takes perseverance, humility, resourcefulness, you must not be afraid of falling or going out of your comfort zone. In 10 years, I see it still bigger, but keeping the first mission, ”said Emilie Ferland of Miller Zoo.
Launched in 2012 with the means at hand to accommodate “unloved” animals, the Miller Zoo now has up to 240 animals and 65 employees. For fans, know that the show “A zoo like no other” will have a one-hour special on December 7 at 8 pm on TVA. The broadcast of season 4 is also scheduled for next spring. In the meantime, the zoo will be open from December 23 to January 9.
“They quickly became the darlings of Quebecers. Despite their success, they have been able to remain true to themselves, ”said Marie-Ève Potvin, content producer for the show.
“What determination it took to overcome each obstacle that stood in their way, how obstinacy they showed to stay the course when many believed them lost, and finally how much energy it took to build this an attraction that is now the joy of thousands of families and the pride of a region, ”said Marlène Bisson, Director of Operations and Industrial Commissioner at DENB.
Remember that the Young Company Prize aims to promote entrepreneurship, innovation and creativity, while being a source of inspiration for young entrepreneurs. It highlights the success of a business less than 10 years old located in Nouvelle-Beauce and having particularly distinguished itself in recent years.
As for the six new (or newly transferred) companies that were presented, they are AŪRA architecture (Sainte-Marie), Brique et Pierre Québec (Saint-Lambert), Impression Pro Design 2019 (Sainte-Marie), RP Race Performance (Saint-Isidore), Sideways (Scott) and XLKey Precision Agriculture (Saint-Bernard).
