The prices for heating oil and natural gas have fallen sharply compared to last year. However, many households are still paying expensive old contracts and can save a lot by switching providers. Good news for everyone who wants to save money on heating. The prices for natural gas and heating oil have fallen sharply compared to last year, but many households are still stuck in expensive old contracts.

Huge savings potential: Consumers should compare providers

Switching providers can save a lot of money here: According to Verivox, the savings on an average gas contract in Bavaria are up to 1164 euros per year. Consumers should check their contracts and compare them with the currently low prices. Consumers who still have an old basic supply tariff from 2023 in particular can save the most now – here the savings quickly reach 1578 euros. Things are also looking good for heating oil – the price has fallen to 92 cents per liter, which brings savings of up to 18 cents per liter, i.e. significantly cheaper than a year ago.
