For three seasons you could see how the Meilandjes converted a dilapidated castle in the French town of Beynac into a real bed & breakfast. Last year, Martien and co. to return to their home country of the Netherlands, so they put their cottage up for sale for no less than 1.25 million euros. For a while it seemed like a sale in pitchers, but the potential buyer withdrew. In the meantime, the price has dropped to 998,000 euros. Why does no one want to buy a house that is world famous in the low countries? Estate agent Arthur Rodenburg, who experienced a similar story with the Pfaffs villa, explains.
