Even the Xbox app has stories now

Microsoft is now adding a row of stories to its Xbox app on iOS and Android. It’s the same interface that originated from Snapchat and spread to all social media apps, including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook Messenger, Pinterest, Y LinkedIn. Even Slack is adding stories soon too.

You will now see Xbox game stories in the mobile app too, in case you haven’t had enough stories in your life. While most social media apps have story content created by your friends or anyone you follow, Xbox stories will come from game brands. So if you play a lot Fortnite or then ObligationsYou’ll see stories from these games and everyone you follow on the Xbox network.

Stories in the Xbox app are simply used as another form of marketing for games to announce promotions, updates, etc. Fortunately, it’s not that intrusive in the Xbox app, and Microsoft has placed these stories in the middle of the page rather than at the top of the page. They are simply called “official gaming publications.”

It’s unclear if Microsoft will allow Xbox Network users to create their own stories in the Xbox app, but there’s definitely no way to do that at this point. Microsoft says is to add stories to the Xbox app “because everyone deserves to see this without scope”, but you will only see the litters, not the brands or your talented friends.
