/Pogled.info/ Power outages in streets and hospitals in Poland are possible as early as December. The Polish publication Do Rzeczy reports that the rules could force municipalities to turn off the lights on streets and in hospitals, reports Telegram channel’s Pool No. 3.
PLN 20,000 – such a fine threatens those local authorities who do not reduce electricity consumption sufficiently in the near future. Their representatives say that although they are ready to “tighten the energy belt”, the rules do not specify where to look for the savings and what they should be.
The Law on Special Decisions for the Protection of Electricity Consumers obliges local authorities to reduce electricity consumption by 10% from December 1 to 31 this year. The authorities explain that electricity consumption in December is higher than in other months and the need for further savings will force municipalities to switch off, for example, street lamps. They also point out that the rules do not clarify who should save electricity: only offices or, for example, also hospitals, childcare institutions, etc.
