Galactus is often portrayed in Marvel Comics as the most fearsome cosmic entity in the universe. He has nothing to fear. Although, still! There is 1 creature that Galactus is afraid of.
Galactus beat a lot of Celestials in the comics. However, when he learns about Tiamut the Dreaming Celestial, it takes all of his willpower not to flee to the far reaches of the universe.
Tiamut of Celestial
In 2021-film Eternals we see the MCU version of Tiamut’s birth. He turns out to be a Celestial that exists within the Earth and feeds on the energy of all life forms on our planet. The idea is to destroy the entire planet at some point.
However, the Eternals won’t let that happen and use the Uni-Mind and even the Dreaming Celestial itself to kill him.
In 2006 the comic appeared Eternals #6 by Neil Gaiman and John Romita Jr., in which the possible awakening of Tiamut causes problems. The Eternals and members of the Avengers do their best to prevent this. The universe even stutters as Tiamut prepares to come to life.
Uatu the Watcher couldn’t even watch, and Galactus pauses because he “remembers what it means to be afraid”. Whereas Galactus could defeat multiple Celestials at once, that says something about Tiamut’s abilities.
Tiamut is so scary because he teams up with the Fulcrum, the equivalent of God from the Marvel Universe.
