employment contract ! The professional integration rate of IFAPME learners is doing very well, despite the impact of the COVID crisis. Within 6 months after their training, 83% of apprenticeship graduates from the apprenticeship sector (from 15 years old) found a job or continued their training. Up to 87% of them find a job in less than 6 months in the Business Manager and Coordination / Supervision sector (from the age of 18). This is what a survey carried out in 2020 with more than 1,700 respondents reveals.
Each year, nearly 17,000 people are trained at IFAPME in more than 200 professions. Trades that can be learned alternately: up to 4 days of training per week in a company and the rest of the time in IFAPME training centers, with support for learners and companies, provided by IFAPME advisers, a pledge of the quality of training. These training courses are aimed at young people from 18 years old and adults, with no age limit.
In 2020, IFAPME wished to verify the relevance of its training by recontacting its former learners. Verdict? The training offered by IFAPME responds well to the demand of the job market. Learners quickly find employment. A position which places IFAPME as a key player in Walloon training and redeployment.
What does the survey tell us?
More than 1,700 respondents, minors or adults during their training, responded to the survey. These were trained at IFAPME and graduated in 2018-2019.
In this survey, we distinguish Apprenticeship training, accessible from 15 to 25 years old, with compulsory work-study programs and Training in Business Owner and Coordination / Supervision, available from 18 years old, work-study program or with a work placement in a company.
A job within 6 months
The results are improving with regard to the survey carried out by IFAPME in 2015.
• 83% of apprenticeship graduates found a job (57%) or continued their training (26%). That is to say 18% more integration into employment compared to 2015.
• 90,4% of Business Manager and Coordination / Supervision graduates who completed their work-study training found a job (87%) or continued their training (3.5%). That is 2% more than in 2015.
Professional practice in a company and the experience acquired through it therefore give learners a better chance of finding a job quickly.
A job in the field they studied?
Yes ! A large majority of IFAPME graduates get a job or set up a business in the profession for which they were trained:
• 86,4% for apprenticeship graduates. That is 7% more than in 2015.
• 85,5% for graduates of the Entrepreneurial stream who work as employees. This is a stable percentage compared to 2015.
In which areas do they find it most easily?
For young graduates of the apprenticeship sector, the training courses that lead the most to employment are in the sectors of Mobility, Construction, Food and Electricity.1 In other words, in proportion to the number of learners having obtained their diploma, the rates of professional integration are higher in these fields.
Walloon redeployment
Willy Borsus, Walloon Minister of IFAPME:
“87% of graduate trainees find a job in less than 6 months, that’s a figure that makes you dizzy. The work-study program is therefore clearly a lever towards employment. It is no coincidence that training and talents constitute the number one axis of our recovery plan for Wallonia, with € 1.442 billion mobilized. Our projects in favor of training are numerous, concrete and ambitious. For example, the deployment of a 4.0 work-study program, digital education, the strengthening of the entrepreneurial spirit through a partnership with Sowalfin, the revitalization of the involvement of companies in particular through ” incentives, the creation of new training courses in response to the skills needs of the labor market, jobs in short supply and jobs of the future, raising awareness of jobs in the field of STEAM and digital technology, the implementation of innovative concepts like the “triale” training… We cannot miss this meeting! ”
IFAPME trains with the desire to lead its graduates to sustainable and quality jobs, or to give them the skills necessary to create their own business. This by offering training that meets the needs of the job market, shortages and the professions of the future. Thanks to its training offer and work-study training, IFAPME remains a key player in the redeployment of Wallonia.
