“The strike quoted Michelet 7/7”, can we read on a door at the entrance of 86, avenue Michelet, in Saint-Ouen (Seine-Saint-Denis). Opposite, on a peeling wall, it is written in black marker: “Queue along the mailboxes”. About fifty boxes, all smashed, served as a benchmark for buyers.
The prices are scribbled here and there: “Beuh, 20 euros and 50 euros”. The juicy business of the S. brothers, who employed around fifty people, is just a memory. This deal point, which held the region’s largest cannabis market share, was dismantled by the police a year ago.
The lessor, the Semiso, civil party in the extraordinary drug trafficking trial of the Michelet city which begins this Monday, May 9 and for three weeks at the Bobigny criminal court, confirms this. “It’s calmed down pretty well. They went elsewhere, ”says Arnaud Bonner, its director, who had set up vigils to hinder traffickers.
The building is still as ramshackle as ever, but the lobby and courtyard are empty. The “oven”, a narcotics point of sale, dried up, the heads of the network on the run or in prison, a regular presence of the police, even after the dismantling, ruined the deal.
Charles-Schmidt in turn dismantled
“It’s paradise, loose a trader in the sector. It was yelling all the time. They were giving us bad publicity. More surprisingly, a woman crossed on the stairs does not share his satisfaction. “We no longer feel safe,” she breathes. They used to guard the entrance, now the door is open all the time and the drug addicts come here to get high. »
With a monthly turnover of 1.4 million euros, the activity has necessarily redeployed elsewhere. Saint-Ouen remains an essential address. Drugs still circulate well in the six other big “ovens” of what some call the “eldorado” of drugs. He was able to move for a time to Charles-Schmidt, not far from Michelet. In the same period, the city of Boute-en-train, at Puces, was also in decline.
But in January, when 250 kg were seized at Charles-Schmidt, of the eight people arrested, “none was from Michelet”, underlines a source familiar with the matter. The transactions would have migrated to Arago, near the ring road, and the Place du 8-Mai-1945, behind the town hall.
