The fifth day of the search for the two drowning people near Terschelling also yielded no results. On Wednesday, police deployed a sonar boat and drones to locate the 12-year-old boy and adult man missing from last week’s collision.
In the Friday morning incident, a speedboat and water taxi collided for unknown reasons. The accident killed a 46-year-old man from Sexbierum and a 57-year-old man from Leeuwarden.
Police assume that missing persons are no longer alive and will wash up somewhere, as it became clear earlier.
On Wednesday, searches were conducted again in the vicinity of the fairway where the accident occurred. The police searched the sandbanks, among other things, at low tide.
The search will resume on Thursday, a police spokesman said.
