Even a single page of a comic can cost a fortune. This has sold for millions

The only page in the 1984 Spider-Man comic book sold at the US auction for $ 3.4 million (72 million crowns), ten times the asking price. The original drawing by Mike Zeck attracted buyers to the fact that this is the first depiction of a spider man in the now iconic black suit. The BBC server informed about it.

The Heritage Auctions auction auctioned rare copies of comics on Thursday. The most expensive item was page 25 from the eighth workbook of the Secret Wars comic book series published by Marvel. Page 24 of the same notebook sold for $ 288,000.

“It made us very happy, especially because of our client, who bought this work in the late 80’s and has been guarding the site ever since,” said Joe Mannarino of the auction room. “Today’s results confirm what we have been saying for a long time: comics can be as popular and valuable as canvas works,” he added.

One of the few available copies of the Action Comics book from 1938 was also sold at the auction for a large amount. The buyer paid $ 3.2 million (68 million crowns) for it.
