The councilor of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council Evelyn Alonso has met with the Deputy of the Common, Rafael Yanes, to request protection due to the “harassment” to which he says he is subjected by the opposition in the exercise of his municipal responsibilities.
Evelyn Alonso, as reported on Tuesday in a statement, transferred yesterday to the Deputy of the Common that is being “harassed by a part of the opposition that questions the threats received when they know perfectly well that there is a complaint filed and identified at least three of the perpetrators of said threats, and an open court case in this regard. “
Said threats and according to a police report made it necessary to activate the authorities protection service on his person, the councilor remembers.
According to Alonso, this harassment to which she is subjected It comes mainly from the spokesperson of the Socialist group, Patricia Hernández, and the councilor Florentino Guzmán, who “systematically, as happened in the last session of the control commission, question the threats against my son and myself, suffered as a result of the completely legitimate motion of censure of a year ago.”
Evelyn Alonso, who is second deputy mayor and councilor for Citizen Security and Mobility, Economic Promotion and Environment, explained to Yanes that she continues to belong to the Citizens party but has seen how her rights are being limited by the current spokesperson, Matilde Zambudio.
The councilor participated in a motion of censure together with the Canary Coalition and the Popular Party against which Patricia Hernández, of the PSOE, was mayor of the Tenerife capital, which gave the nationalist José Manuel Bermúdez the mayor’s office of the capital.
