Evasion at full throttle on the SOAT | THE UNIVERSAL

Of the 379,593 vehicles that make up the fleet of the department of Bolívar, according to data from the Single National Traffic Registry (RUNT), only 35% have the Mandatory Traffic Accident Insurance (SOAT) in force.

The most recent RUNT report specifies that in the department 246,363 vehicles do not have this insurance in force, that is, they are evading it, with a percentage of 65%. Only 133,230 vehicles were in force with that insurance, as of January 31 of this year.

Bolívar’s figures exceed national averages since the same report specifies that of the 15,925,315 vehicles that appear registered in the country, only a total of 8,337,721 are in force with the SOAT, that is, 48%; while 7,587,594 is evading it.

Non-compliance with this obligation rose 2% compared to 2019. Motorcycles are the vehicle with the highest percentage of evasion, the RUNT report indicates.

Of the more than 7 million vehicles that evade the SOAT, 77% are motorcycles (5,844,850), making them the class of vehicles with the highest non-compliance with this obligation, the report states.

Amazonas (91%), Vichada (89%), Arauca (82%), Putumayo (80%), Chocó and Córdoba (80%) are the departments with the highest percentages of SOAT evasion in the country. The main departments of the country also present high levels of evasion, Atlántico has a non-compliance of 49%, Valle del Cauca 45%, Antioquia 41%, Cundinamarca 40% and Bogotá presents a 28% evasion.
