Carabineros from the O’Higgins region, represented by its different groups, participated in the traditional Evangelical Thanksgiving Service, led by the chaplain of Carabineros Evangelico, Yamil Sarmiento Flores, for the 97th anniversary of the institution. The ceremony was presided over by the Chief of the O’Higgins Zone, General Max Jiménez Fleming.
After a minute of silence for the martyrs of the institution, remembering the eldest, Emmanuel Sánchez Soto, (RIP), the Service began with the interpretation of various and happy religious songs, to give way to the words of the Evangelical Chaplain, who He referred to the fact that “at God’s table there is a place for everyone, and we are all welcome and have an important place for him.”
Subsequently, the pastors present from different communities went to the altar to bless the Carabineros present and through them the entire institution and their families, so that they would receive God’s protection.
Finally, the O’Higgins Zone Chief, General, Max Jiménez Fleming, pointed out that “this is a celebration that has a special nuance, since we have lost one of our own” and noted that “I can only ask for one thing, pray for the Carabineros and we will continue working without giving up.”
Also present at the religious service were the sheriffs and the community who wanted to accompany the police in this commemorative activity of their 97th Anniversary.
On April 27, Carabineros de la Zona O’Higgins will carry out the official activity starting at 10:30 a.m., with the celebration of the Catholic mass in the Cathedral of Rancagua, which will be officiated by the Bishop of Rancagua, Monsignor Guillermo Vera Soto.
Later, at 12 noon, the traditional civic-military parade will take place in the Plaza de Los Héroes. The O’Higgins Zone Chief, General Max Jiménez Fleming, has invited the entire community to accompany the institution on this new anniversary.
