The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) delivers a final report to the Japanese government today (4th) evaluating the safety of the plan to discharge contaminated water from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in Japan.

According to reports from Japanese media such as the Nihon Keizai Shimbun, IAEA Secretary-General Rafael Grossi, who is visiting Japan until the 7th, will meet with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida today, the first day of his visit, to deliver the IAEA’s final report.

Japanese media predicts that the final report will also maintain its original opinion, as the IAEA has so far published six evaluation reports stating that it is ‘appropriate’ in relation to the discharge method of contaminated water and the feasibility of facilities.

It is known that Secretary-General Grossi will visit Korea, New Zealand, and the Cook Islands to explain the contents of the report after completing his schedule in Japan.
