The decision was made after a discussion with the Russian-appointed deputy governor of the residential part of the Zaporizhia region, Yevgenia Balitsky.
Balitsky suggested using “sanatoriums and boarding houses on the coast of the Sea of Azov, located from Berdyansk to Kirillivka” to house the Russians, Smirnov said.
The first flights to “deliver people” to the Zaporizhia region will be organized “soon,” the official admitted.
Smirnov did not specify how Russian security will be ensured in the region, which “lives under martial law”.
As Smirnov said, 121,000 people had been evacuated by August 12.
