The Russian authorities do not take measures to provide the evacuees with temporary housing, hot meals, medical services, which violate part one of Article 55 of the Convention for the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War of August 12, 1949 (Fourth Geneva Convention), according to which the occupying state is obliged to provide the civilian population with all necessary resources by all available means In violation of Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights guaranteeing the right to respect for private and family life, some of the evacuated citizens of Ukraine were accommodated in the sports hall of the city of Taganrog, Rostov region,” Denisova wrote in Telegram.

In this regard, Denisova appealed to the Russian Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova with a demand to ensure proper conditions for the stay of Ukrainian citizens in the Russian Federation, to provide the necessary assistance, including free legal advice and humanitarian assistance.

In addition, Denisova appealed to the UNHCR Commissioner General, the world community regarding an immediate response to the violations of Article 49 of the Convention for the Protection of Civilian Population in Time of War by the Russian Federation regarding the illegal evacuation of Ukrainian citizens to the territory of the occupying country.
