Authorities ordered evacuation on Monday for areas marked by recent fires in Duarte and Orange County.
The City of Duarte has announced a mandatory evacuation order for 25 homes in the area marked by the Fish Fire starting at 11pm due to the impending storm and the danger of mudslides.
Several roads will be closed and Duarte transit service in the impact area will be suspended until at least Tuesday, according to a press release.
Meanwhile, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department announced a voluntary evacuation notice starting at 4am Tuesday for Silverado Canyon, Williams Canyon and Modjeska Canyon in the area burned by the Bond Fire.
The National Weather Service (NWS) issued flash flood monitoring for that same area from 4:00 am Tuesday to 7:00 am Wednesday. The evacuation warning is expected to be in effect for the duration of the flash floods sighting, officials said.
Flash flood warnings have also been issued for mountainous areas, particularly the parts of Orange County affected by the Bond and Silverado fires.

The mountains of Los Angeles County, Lancaster, Castaic, Palmdale, Pomona, Valencia, Santa Clarita, El Monte, Acton, East Los Angeles, San Gabriel, Pasadena, Newhall, and Mount Wilson are under flood control.
Most areas of Los Angeles and Orange County will see significant rains that will continue until Election Day Tuesday, according to the NWS. Lighter rains are expected for Wednesday.
In September, heavy rains caused flash floods that sent mud into homes in the Yucaipa area, destroying structures and even businesses.
