Evacuation Orders and Warnings Issued as Southern California Braces for Dangerous Storm

Evacuation Order Issued for Topanga Canyon Area as Dangerous Storm Approaches

LOS ANGELES COUNTY – As Southern California braces for an imminent and perilous storm projected to bring heavy rainfall to Los Angeles County, an evacuation order has been issued for certain residents residing in the Topanga Canyon area.

The mandated evacuation affects the areas along Santa Maria Road north of Topanga Canyon, where there is an elevated risk of mudslides and debris flows. Ensuring the safety of the residents, the order will remain in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Authorities are urging all individuals residing in the affected region to evacuate as soon as possible and maintain vigilance regarding the prevailing weather conditions.

In addition to the evacuation order, several evacuation warnings have been issued for unincorporated areas of L.A. County in proximity to the Agua Fire, Bobcat Fire (specifically the north end), Lake Fire, and Owen Fire burn scars.

All evacuation warnings will be enforced beginning 10 a.m. Sunday and will remain active until 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Agua Fire

Evacuation warnings have been designated for the region along Soledad Canyon Road east of Agua Dulce Canyon Road.

Bobcat Fire

Evacuation warnings encompass the Juniper Hills and Valyermo areas.

Lake Fire

The evacuation warning affects the Lake Hughes and King Canyon areas which include the following specific locations:

  • 20000 block of Pine Canyon Road
  • 18000 block of Ellstree Drive
  • 46000 block of Kings Canyon Road
  • 18000 block of Newvale Drive
  • 43000 block of Lake Hughes Road

City of Duarte

The City of Duarte has also issued an evacuation warning for an area located within the Fish Fire burn scar. The warning will be in effect from 6 p.m. Sunday through 10 a.m. Tuesday.

  • Mel Canyon Road between Fish Canyon Road and Brookridge Road
