A total of 1,000 people were reported evacuate recall fire which hit a residential area in Kapuk Muara, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, Sunday (30/7) morning.
Head of Jakarta BPBD Disaster Data and Information Processing Head Michael Sitanggang said that for the time being thousands of residents were placed in refugee tents on Jalan Kapuk Utara 2.
“1,000 people have fled,” said Michael when contacted.
Michael said the objects affected by this fire were 400 houses occupied by 200 families. The cause of the fire has so far not been ascertained.
“The cause of the fire is still being assessed,” he said.
There were no casualties in this incident. However, during the incident, two residents experienced shortness of breath, so they had to be rushed to the Penjaringan Health Center.
He said that as of 16.14 WIB, the extinguishing process was still being carried out by 25 Firefighters Units, assisted by a BPBD TRC Unit, a PLN Unit, a PMI Unit, an AGD Dinkes Unit, a Transportation Agency unit, a Satpol PP unit, PSKB/Tagana Dinsos personnel. , Police personnel and Koramil personnel.
He continued that the DKI BPBD had distributed aid to the victims, such as 10 boxes of mineral water, 33 sheets of blankets, 33 pcs of mukena, 33 sheets of sarongs, 10 sheets of tarpaulin, 25 mattresses, 12 packages family kids10 packets kids wareand 12 clothing packages.
Regarding the total loss from this fire, Michael said officers in the field were still collecting data.
“Still in data collection,” he said.
