Evacuation in Dusseldorf as Unexploded World War II Bomb Discovered

About 13,000 people were called on to temporarily leave their homes in Dusseldorf, western Germany, after the discovery of an American bomb left over from World War II, city firefighters said Monday.

In 2017, the discovery of a 1.4-tonne bomb in Frankfurt called for the evacuation of 65,000 people.

In December 2021, a World War II bomb exploded at a location near the train station in Munich, injuring four people and disrupting railway traffic.
