A gas leak has occurred on a propane tank at a petrol station in Tollånes in Beiarn municipality, the police write on Twitter.
– Residents within a radius of 300 meters are evacuated due to fire and explosion hazards. There are 25 people registered within the evacuation area.
Operations Manager Kenneth Magnussen in Nordland police district tells TV 2 that they are working to get an overview of the situation.
– As of now, I do not know very much. The emergency services have moved out to the scene. An assessment is underway beyond evacuation as to how it should be handled in the future.
Evacuation has begun, and some have already evacuated themselves.
The police are about to enter the area now, the operations manager states.
The police reported the incident just before 10.30 pm on Monday night.
