On Wednesday July 15, on their return from the camp set up in Bièvre, a group of scouts from the Ghent region had to leave their train at Namur station. Three teenagers were indeed sick and had been showing symptoms of the coronavirus since the last days of the camp.

The three young people had been sidelined during the last days of the camp in Bièvre, but the whole group took the train last Wednesday to return home. Along the way, the condition of one of the young people deteriorated and the animators had to call an ambulance, as our colleagues from Het Nieuwsblad relate.
This intervened at Namur station, and the federal railway police made the whole group (around thirty people) leave the platforms. The leader of the scout group lamented the treatment inflicted by the police. “They were isolated for a while with barriers and were not even allowed to go to the toilet …”
► Federal police reacts to these accusations.
► Some reinforced safety and hygiene measures have been put in place.
