Three people have been taken to hospital, two people have been taken to the emergency room and six people have been evacuated after the fire in Meierigaten. Several had to be rescued with a ladder from the second floor.
The police in the South-East reported at 23.15 that there was a fire in a building in Meierigaten. Flames are reported from an apartment, they wrote. The fire brigade has evacuated several residents with a ladder from the second floor of the building.
The building it is burning in is a combined commercial and residential building with facades towards Meierigaten, Slagveien and Skogergaten in Tønsberg.
Three minutes past midnight, the police report that they no longer see flames. Smoke divers are now going through the building to clear it. The police are also working on intelligence and investigations on the spot.
