entertainment">“I had been working on it for a while,” says the actress, who is known for leading roles in the series, among other things Dunya & Desie on A’Dam & E.V.A. “But sometimes you need something to break a pattern in yourself. That was Expedition for me. When I came back, it was completely clear to me that I wanted to take a different path.”

entertainment">Van de Wijdeven already canceled two films to participate in the survival program. “And now I’ve only canceled three more,” she says, putting her hand over her mouth with a laugh. “It actually feels really good. It is of course exciting, but I fully support it.”

entertainment">The participation in Expeditie Robinson also had to do with her 1-year-old son, says Van de Wijdeven. “I really wanted to make a new switch and be a better mother. Before leaving, I made good arrangements with Dad, so that I could be sure that things were going well at home while I was away. In retrospect, it was certainly the right choice. When I came back, my son was also very happy to see me again.”
