Slovak theater and film actress.

She studied at the gymnasium in Lučenac and at the VŠMU in Bratislava in the class of Júlia Pantika. During her studies, in addition to him, she was influenced by teachers such as Andrej Bagar, Viliam Záborský, Ladislav Chudík or Mikuláš Huba.

She started her acting journey as a trainee. After completing her studies, she joined the SNP Army Theater in Martin (1955-1960). Her first role was Hanka in Karvaš’s patient 113. She worked in the Regional Theater in Trnava for the next five years and one year in the Regional Theater in Nitra. During ten years in theaters outside Bratislava, she created a large palette of diverse characters in which she applied her talent, sense of humor, beauty and charm: Agnesa (Women’s School, 1955), Colomba (Volpone, 1957), Helena (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, 1961) , Rosaura (Cunning Widow, 1962) or Beatrice (Servant of Two Masters, 1963).

In 1966, she joined the theater company New scene in Bratislava, where in forty theater seasons she created a number of great dramatic female characters: Olga (Three Sisters, 1972), Gertrúda (Hamlet, 1974), Irina Arkadinová (Racek, 1976), but she also used her sense of comedy and grotesque: Pokorná (Jožko Púčik and his career, 1979, Bělořítka (Kocúrkovo, 1982), Drummed (Najdúch, 1983), Ženichova matka (Malomeštiak, 1985).

She also played in many television productions and films (American Tragedy, Portrait of Dorian Gray, Eden and then Olejkár), or in the series Stormy Wine on Markíza TV. For many years she worked for Slovak Radio and devoted herself to dubbing.

She passed on her experience to students of acting and opera singing at the VŠMU and at the church gymnasium in Bratislava, where she taught artistic presentation and stage speech.

In the summer of 2019, she announced the end of her acting career.

She was married to Alojz Suchánek, they had a son Michal (* 1960).
