The famous actress of Desperate Housewives, Eva Longoria, revealed the reasons for her departure from the United States in an interview with the American edition of the magazine Marie Claire. Indeed, the 49-year-old actress, who often supported Kamala Harris during the American presidential election, explains that she chose to leave because of “the changing atmosphere” of the United States. Regarding Donald Trump’s victory, Eva Longoria does not mince her words: “What’s shocking isn’t that he won. It’s that a convicted criminal who spews so much hatred can occupy the highest office.”she declared in the columns of the magazine, before adding: “If he keeps his promises, this country will be a scary place.”
Eva Longoria also explains her choice to leave California due to the arrival of the health crisis. “Things were changing. The atmosphere was different. And then Covid arrived, and everything changed. Whether it was the homeless problem or the taxes, I don’t want to criticize California, but I have the feeling that this chapter of my life is over now”, she confided. The actress admits to being lucky to be able to live elsewhere: “I’m privileged. Most Americans aren’t so lucky. They’re going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness are for them.” The magazine reveals that Eva Longoria lives with her husband José Baston and their son Santiago, between Europe and South America. In fact, the little family has taken up residence in Spain and Mexico since 2024.
