Eva Longoria Joins Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building Season 4 in Recurring Role
Eva Longoria, the talented actress and producer, is making her return to the small screen in Hulu’s hit series, Only Murders in the Building. Sazz is Charles-Haden Savage’s mind-bogglingly identical stunt double from his years on the popular series Brazzos and its 2020 revival.
In a recent interview with Deadline, Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich revealed that the trio at the center of Only Murders in the Building – Charles, Oliver, and Mabel – will kick off the new season with a trip to Los Angeles before returning to The Arconia in their search for Sazz’s killer. This change of scenery promises to bring new twists and turns to the investigation.
Longoria’s character will play an integral role in this season’s investigation, according to sources close to production. She joins Molly Shannon, who was previously announced as a new cast member for Season 4, in the role of a high-powered LA businesswoman who unexpectedly finds herself drawn into the world of the investigation in New York.
Fans of the show will also be delighted to hear that Meryl Streep will be returning for Season 4, reprising her role as Loretta Durkin. In the Season 3 finale, Loretta received two offers for productions that would require her to relocate to Los Angeles, a decision that her new beau Oliver fully supports. Mabel’s love interest Tobert, played by Jesse Williams, is also headed west, and surprisingly, she’s also keen on taking a little break from New York.
Only Murders in the Building, an Emmy-nominated comedy, is produced by 20th Television and co-created and co-written by Steve Martin and John Hoffman. The show’s star-studded cast includes Martin Short, Selena Gomez, and now Eva Longoria. The executive producers of the show are Martin, Hoffman, Short, Gomez, Dan Fogelman, and Jess Rosenthal.
While Longoria is making her return to television with Only Murders in the Building, she has been keeping busy with other projects as well. She recently kicked off promotions for her new Apple TV+ series, Land of Women, in which she serves as an executive producer and stars opposite Carmen Maura. This six-episode dramedy series is inspired by Sandra Barneda’s best-selling novel of the same name and will be presented in both Spanish and English.
In addition to her work in front of and behind the camera, Longoria has also ventured into the world of media holding companies and premium content studios. Last fall, she partnered with Cris Abrego to form Hyphenate Media Group, a new media holding company and premium content studio. Land of Women is the company’s first project.
Looking ahead, Longoria has a busy schedule lined up. She is set to star in Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day and will also produce and star in the TV adaptation of Isabel Allende’s bestselling novel, The House of the Spirits, for FilmNation Entertainment. The series follows the extraordinary lives of three generations of women in the Trueba Family, with Longoria portraying the passionate and courageous Blanca Trueba.
Furthermore, Longoria has other exciting projects in the pipeline. She will be part of the Disney+ original series Paola Santiago and the River of Tears, which is currently in development. The series draws inspiration from the legend of La Llorona and follows teenage Paola on a quest to save her best friend from a different world steeped in Latin folklore. Additionally, Longoria will star in the HBO film A Class Apart, which tells the incredible true story of a group of Mexican Americans fighting for their civil rights during a landmark case that leads to the Supreme Court.
