Eva Jinek says goodbye to RTL after four years and makes the switch to AVROTROS. There she will work on a new program about current affairs and culture that has yet to be developed.
“I look back with great pleasure on the past few years at RTL,” says Jinek in a press release. “The whole period was adventurous and also very educational. Now it’s time for something else.”
With her switch to AVROTROS, Jinek returns to public broadcasting. She worked there for fifteen years before she left for RTL in September 2019. Her contract with the commercial channel expired this year.
“When AVROTROS asked me to return to public broadcasting to develop a program together with them in which I can give a place to both my journalistic side and, above all, my heart for culture, I immediately became enthusiastic.”
The presenter, who is currently on maternity leave, adds: “We are very excited to inspire the viewer with this. At a later date we will work out the plans for our collaboration in detail, but first my baby comes and I am of course very much looking forward to it now.”
RTL continues with Renze, Humberto and Beau
Jinek made the daily talk show for RTL a woman. In recent years she has shared that time slot with Renze Klamer, Humberto Tan and Beau van Erven Dorens. RTL has announced that it will continue with those talk shows now that Jinek is leaving.
“We have worked very well with Eva over the past four years and we would have liked to continue that collaboration,” says program director Peter van der Vorst. “We are sorry, but respect her choice.”
Jinek has signed a four-year contract with AVROTROS. It is not yet known when her new program will start.
