Euskadi will start vaccinating those who choose Pfizer as the second dose of AstraZeneca | SER Vitoria

Basque Country will resume next week the vaccination of people from essential groups under 60 years who received the first dose of AstraZeneca, after the Bioethics Committee has supported the possibility of repeating the vaccine.

The Basque Government will begin to offer appointments and vaccinate next week to those who opt for the preparation of Pfizer as a second dose.

On the contrary, those who opt for AstraZeneca will enter “a different agenda” to receive the second dose “prior informed consent” and “as long as there is stock for it.”

This has been communicated in a brief note by the Health Department in which he assures that “he will continue to report on the logistics and the summons process in the coming days.”

Although Health assures that “it will begin to quote next week”, in the SER string We are telling them that Osakidetza has been closing dates with people from this group without telling them what will your second dose be because it was still not resolved if they were going to be able to choose a vaccine.

The measure affects some 83,000 people children under 60 years of age who have already received the first dose of AstraZeneca in the Basque Country and who will be able to choose a vaccine under the conditions set by the Basque Government. In principle, appointments will be resumed with Ertzaintza agents who were the first to receive the Anglo-Swedish preparation.
