The decision not to participate in Eurovision 2025 was made by Moldova, announcing its withdrawal from the competition.
The representatives of the state broadcaster TRM, Corneliu Durnescu and Daniela Crudu, during a press conference, announced that the country will not participate this year, while the national song selection contest, Etapa Nationala, has also been cancelled.
Those in charge cited economic reasons and the decline of public interest, as well as the need to reorganize the institution.
“This decision was difficult, but necessary. Our recent entries have shown that a major overhaul is needed to maintain the quality of entries and the interest of the world.” Durnescu said.
