Eurovision 2024: Direct shots at the EBU from Bambie Thug – Allegations of inciting violence from Israel (Video) – 2024-05-13 10:50:59

Bambie Thug fired shots at the European Broadcasting Union, after the finale of the Eurovision 2024 Final, on the occasion of various problems he faced with members of the Israeli delegation, but also with KAN, Israel’s national broadcaster.

The non-binary Bambie Thug who represented Ireland in the competition eventually came in 6th place and after its completion, he made statements to the television cameras and referred to the bad atmosphere that existed towards him.

In his statements, Bambie Thug claimed that the Israeli broadcaster KAN did not obey the rules of the competition and this had been brought to the attention of the EBU, without giving many details.

«So now that I’m free I can talk about anything right? KAN, Israel’s broadcaster, incited violence against me two or three times“, he said after the final on Saturday night.

«We reported it to the EBU, they said they will look into it. They waited until the last minute, we still haven’t heard back. The EBU allowed us to be scapegoated, he allowed us to be our own representative to defend him. This broadcaster disobeyed the rules and I hope next year they are not allowed to compete because of this.”he said.

Bambie Thug then reported: “I’m so proud of Nemo. I am so proud of all of us. We managed to get into the top ten. We were fighting so much about many things behind the scenes. It was so hard for all of us. I am so proud of us. And I want to say that we are Eurovision, it’s not the EBU, go to hell, I don’t care anymore”.

He then added: “What we contestants do, the community we’ve built, the love, the support we have for each other, that’s what makes the difference. The people have spoken. Non-binary wins.”

Eurovision 2024: Ireland’s appearance with Bambie Thug

It is recalled that the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), obliged Bambie Thug, representative of Ireland in Eurovision 2024, to change his make-up due to the music institution’s rules against political statements.

He made the same known at the press conference after the first semi-final, noting that he was instructed by the organizers of the song contest.

Specifically, according to The Journal, the messages, which were written in the ancient Irish language Ogham, became a topic of discussion, since they referred to Palestine and said “Freedom in Palestine” and “ceasefire”. “It was very important to me because I am in favor of justice and peace. Unfortunately, I had to change these messages today [σ.σ. εννοεί 07/05]following an order from the EBU” he said.
