Construction is scheduled to begin at the end of February, with the necessary permits.
The association of companies Eurovia CS and M-Silnice was chosen as the winner of the competition for the construction of the missing section of the D35 highway near Olomouc. Construction should begin at the end of February.
CEO Radek Mátl announced the selection of the winner on the X social network. ŘSD will make significant savings on the construction of the long-missing section of the Olomouc highway bypass: the price dropped from 1.15 billion crowns to 838 million crowns, i.e. 72% of the estimated price. “A valid building permit has been issued for the construction, we plan to start at the end of February this year,” added Mátl. Eight bids arrived in the competition.
A total of 3.2 kilometers long section will bring the end of the bottleneck on the D35 highway, when it reached the Globus roundabout. The direct route was complicated by disputes over route management.
In 2008, for example, a petition was created by local citizens that demanded the diversion of the future highway route. Due to the change in the law, it was also necessary to repeat the complex process of environmental impact assessment (EIA) in 2018. The last section of the Olomouc highway bypass, the so-called western tangent, will connect the current end of the D35 in the direction of Mohelnice with the first stage of the bypass. Construction of the almost 15-kilometer-long southern part of the Olomouc bypass was completed in 2003.
The construction is described in detail in information leaflet.
