For this year 2022, the traditional campaign to promote blood donation, Eurotandem, carried out by engineering students at IMT Nord-Europe in Douai began on April 6 and will end on April 20.
Faced with the dangerous drop in blood stocks, students have to recruit blood donors, especially among young people.
The principle to achieve this goal: carry out a sporting challenge dedicated to the promotion of blood donation in tandem to encourage the press to talk about blood donation. In addition, during each stage, awareness campaigns for residents are carried out by students, supported by blood donor associations.
This new edition is marked by the support of Alexandre Lloveras, professional cyclist, sponsor of the edition and gold medalist at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo. And as for previous editions, there will be six one-hour relays per day, with four tandems which will accumulate 700 km daily.
In addition to this sporting challenge for a noble cause, these students appreciate the human dimension of this adventure which allows them to create links between them.
