Annual deflation is still recorded in Greece (-2%), Estonia (-1.7%), Ireland (-1.5%), Cyprus (-1.4%), Spain (-0.9%), Portugal and Italy. (-0.6% in both countries), Slovenia and Germany (-0.5% in both countries), Luxembourg (-0.4%) and Croatia (-0.2%).
Meanwhile, annual inflation in October was recorded in France (0.1%), Finland (0.2%), Denmark (0.3%), Sweden and Belgium (both 0.4%), Lithuania (0.5%), Malta and Bulgaria (both 0.6%), Austria (1.1%), the Netherlands (1.2%), Slovakia (1.6%), Romania (1.8%), the Czech Republic (2.9%) , Hungary (3%) and Poland (3.8%).
The EU average annual inflation was 0.3% in October, while the euro area recorded annual deflation of 0.3%.
Compared to the previous month – September – consumer prices in both the EU and the euro area have increased by 0.2%.
Compared to September, consumer prices in Latvia decreased by 0.1% in October, in Estonia they decreased by 0.6%, but in Lithuania they remained unchanged on a monthly basis. The highest monthly deflation was in Malta (-1.3%), while the highest monthly inflation was recorded in the Netherlands (0.8%).
