‘Eurostat’: In January-June, Latvia saw an average rapid increase in exports between EU countries

In January-June of this year, in comparison with the first six months of 2020, the volume of exports in Latvia has increased by 20%.

The largest increases in exports during this period were recorded in Slovakia (+ 29%), Croatia (+ 27%), Estonia, Greece and Romania (all countries + 26%), the Czech Republic, Italy, Poland and Portugal (all countries + 24%), as well as In Spain (+ 23%).

In Lithuania, an increase of 19% was registered, but the smallest increase was in Denmark (+ 9%).

Exports have increased in all EU countries except Ireland (-2%) and Cyprus (-16%).

The volume of imports in January-June has increased compared to the corresponding period of 2020 in all EU Member States, but the largest increase was in Estonia (+ 30%) and Romania (+ 26%). In Latvia and Lithuania, as well as in Italy and Slovenia, the volume of imports has increased by 24%.
