In an interview with the German newspaper Welt am Sonntag published on Saturday (28/5/2022), De Bolle said, “One of the things that concerns Europol is the presence of weapons currently being delivered to Ukraine.”
He explained, “When the conflict ends, Europol wants to prevent a situation similar to 30 years ago in the Balkan wars.”

“The weapons from that war are still used by criminal groups today,” he said.

De Bolle noted, “One of the main priorities of Europol now is to find a way in which we will deal with the situation after the possible end of the war.”

“Europol will form an international task force that will deal with this issue,” he said.
