The European Police Service – Europol has requested access to the investigation into the incident with Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev since Monday. Then an explosion went off next to the car in which Prosecutor No. 1 was traveling, BNR learned from its sources.
The agency supports investigations into terrorism, international drug trafficking, cross-border fraud and human trafficking. But there are no investigative and operational, only analytical functions.
According to the BNR, experts from Europol will be used to analyze the evidence collected from the site of the attack, as well as the results of the assigned expertise related to the nature and strength of the explosive device.
