(BFM Bourse) – The Inertam subsidiary has signed a new framework contract to treat at least 500 tonnes of asbestos waste per year with a Swiss waste treatment specialist.
New rebound for Europlasma, this specialist in the treatment of hazardous waste and the revaluation of raw materials whose price remains subject to high volatility (given the structure of its capital and the low nominal). Friday around 9:40 a.m., its stock price climbed 10.54% to 0.043 euroafter having accelerated to more than 30% in the first exchanges, on the announcement of the signing of a three-year framework contract with “a major player” in Switzerland.
Via its dedicated subsidiary Inertam, Europlasma has entered into an agreement to treat at least 500 tonnes of asbestos waste per year from 2023, at an undisclosed price. The waste produced in Switzerland will be transported to the Morcenx site, where Europlasma uses a vitrification process unique in the world by plasma torch to make the asbestos-containing waste permanently inert. European legislation only allows the export of hazardous waste if there is a permanent destruction solution on the host territory, a barrier to entry favorable to the French group.
In return, Inertam grants exclusivity to the partner for the performance of asbestos waste treatment services from Switzerland. The contract is established for a period of three years tacitly renewable within the limit of five additional years.
Europlasma emphasizes that the partner in question is a major player in hazardous waste in Switzerland, which was a historical customer and with whom relations were renewed after the modernization and reopening of the Inertam site in the Landes.
Despite its ban in Switzerland since 1990, asbestos is still very present in buildings (according to the Swiss asbestos tracking network Diagamiante, 80% of the 82,000 buildings in Geneva still contain it).
“We are very pleased with the signing of this agreement, which confirms the rise in commercial power of Europlasma, whose momentum should continue over the coming months. The attractiveness of our hazardous waste destruction solutions positions us more than ever as the privileged interlocutor of the actors who wish in particular to completely eradicate harmful asbestos waste, instead of the archaic process of burial”, underlined Olivier Pla, director of development of Europlasma.
