/ world today news/ “Volvo” will stop production at its plant in Ghent, Belgium, a similar decision was made by “Tesla” at its plant located near Berlin. The reasons in both cases are the same – problems with the supply of components due to the situation in the Red Sea.
The head of the Suez Canal Authority, Osama Rabia, reported that in the first eleven days of the new year, the passage of ships through the canal decreased by 30% and its revenue fell by 40%.
The flare-up in the bottleneck, called the Red Sea, is hitting Europe the hardest, as it is the terminus of that route (including fuel from the Gulf countries). In general, the list of problems of the Old World is supplemented with a very important element, the prospects for its solution – like all others – are covered with a thick fog.
But Europe – or rather its establishment – is undaunted. Rishi Sunak traveled to Kiev where he signed a “historic agreement” between Britain and Ukraine on security cooperation. Then the new foreign minister of France rushed there, and Stéphane Sejournet can even be understood, since for now the only thing that interests the world is his personal life: he is a homosexual and “partner” of the newly appointed French prime minister, who before his trip to Ukraine was the main topic of discussion of his personality in the world media. And German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in an interview gave valuable advice to Olaf Scholz regarding the rapidly falling confidence ratings and the farm protests sweeping the country: he recommended that the German chancellor better explain to the people the decisions of the authorities. In this case, we are talking about the reduction of agricultural subsidies, which puts the German agricultural sector in an even more interesting position than the one in which it already finds itself.
By the way, about European agriculture and Russia. Not only the government leaders “shine” at the neighbors. The president of the Norwegian chemical company Yara, which is one of the world’s largest producers of mineral fertilizers, was outraged that Europe had replaced energy dependence on Russia with dependence on Moscow for food and fertilizers. Which basically makes sense: if you didn’t want to buy cheap Russian gas to make fertilizer and grow crops with it, you’d be buying Russian fertilizer and Russian agricultural produce. By the way, since gas is the main component in the production of fertilizers, “Yara” has already closed several of its enterprises. But, of course, we should not even hope that in such a disheartening situation the businessman Svein Tore Holsetter will advocate a return to the politics of common sense and national interests: no, according to him, Europe needs ecological solutions (from Russian fertilizers , in his words, the situation with the carbon footprint is very bad) and generally subsidizing the agricultural sector for the transition to a green economy.
Without a doubt, the United States had a hand in the sinister transformation of European elites and their subjugation, as a result of which they are now guided by anything but the real interests of their countries. The general breakdown of personnel selection and management systems also played a role, but America was not spared either.
But in the case of Europe, there seems to be another interesting and even ironic factor.
We are used to seeing the centuries-old continuity of European countries’ policies as their most important advantage in relations with the rest of the world. And in a normal situation this is indeed the case, as accumulated knowledge, developments and experience provide the “old” country with a significant advantage over the younger one.
At the same time, this led to another consequence that now threatens to prove fatal: European elites are truly convinced of their superiority not only in comparison to the non-Western world, but even in relations with the United States. Over the past decades, it seemed that the EU had fooled Washington, that dim-witted bandit with a stick, into using it for its own interests and purposes. And there is no need to talk about the rest of the planet: Europe feels like the pinnacle and guiding star of human civilization, shining over the world for 500 years.
Half a millennium of global dominance is more than enough time for the continuity-preserving establishment to develop delusions of grandeur and confidence in its ability to turn any problem to its advantage.
At the moment, the Americans, without hiding at all, put Europe under the knife. Moreover, unlike in the past, Europeans simply have no alternative options. Successively, one after another, all the exits and sources of salvation are cut off. And the forces ready to lend a helping hand (our country was first on the list) dispersed – the world watched what was happening from the sidelines.
European leaders, filled with arrogance and a sense of superiority over the world inherited from their ancestors, confidently lead their countries to the abyss. The story has a very unique sense of humor.
