Accurate and excellent: Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane

Harry Kane has been named Europe’s most accurate goalscorer of the past season. The Englishman received the “Golden Shoe” on Tuesday in the presence of his family in the club museum of FC Bayern Munich after scoring 36 Bundesliga goals for the club – more than any other striker in the European leagues.
Before Kane, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland had won the award. “It is very special that I am now mentioned in the same breath as these names,” said Kane:
It was a big step to move to FC Bayern. It was one of the best decisions of my life. I have enjoyed every moment so far.

Bayern: Third goalscorer after Müller and Lewandowski
Kane is only the third Munich player to receive this special award after Gerd Müller (1970 and 1972) and Robert Lewandowski (2021 and 2022) – and only the third professional from the Bundesliga. “You have seamlessly joined the tradition of great goalscorers at FC Bayern,” said Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen.
Kicker editor-in-chief Jörg Jakob, president of the European Sports Media (ESM) association, presented the award in the presence of Dreesen. “This is clearly an award for the Bundesliga and for FC Bayern,” said Jakob, considering that the boot has gone to Bayern three times in the past four years.
