From the beginning of the war in Ukraine until September 3, 2023, the country has already received 100 billion dollars in military aid.

“If we have to calculate and evaluate all the aid we have received so far, I think it reaches nearly 100 billion dollars. More than 50 billion dollars are from the USA alone,” announced the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Alexey Reznikov.

According to him, in order to obtain weapons, equipment, ammunition, shells and cartridges, he communicated with different countries in different time zones. At the same time, spending on the army comes from the Ukrainian budget.

“A large part of the budget of the Ministry of Defense is spent on monetary support for the military and compensations. If we calculate the effectiveness of the use of the budget, then it is implemented well. People cannot say that we are not using it effectively, because it is not known what would have happened if I had not proceeded that way,” said the minister.

Help for Ukraine

The European Union proposes to create a special fund within the European Peace Fund for the purchase of weapons for Ukraine in the amount of up to 5 billion euros per year for the next four years. The proposal can be voted on at the end of the year.

Meanwhile, since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the United States has already provided $66.2 billion in aid.
