The countries of the European Union promised to achieve victory for Ukraine in the war with Russia and not stop their support until the day justice is restored after the criminal attack of the Russian Federation.
This is stated in the statement of the European Council on the anniversary of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, which I got acquainted with “European Truth”.
The statement, which was supported by all 27 EU member states, says that Russian aggression is a crime against peace, violates the UN Charter, UN principles and the values of humanity.
“Russia systematically attacks civilians, destroys cities and attacks Ukrainian identity. We are determined to ensure that all those responsible for war crimes and other grave crimes committed in connection with Russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine are brought to justice,” the statement said.
EU states emphasize that Russia has weaponized food and energy, is making irresponsible nuclear threats and is spreading false war narratives. Russia’s aggressive war and its consequences have significantly affected many countries, in particular, due to the impact on the world economy, food prices and commodities.
EU states pledge to continue to stand firm and in full solidarity with Ukraine and its people for as long as it takes.
“All Ukrainians deserve to live in peace and freely choose their own destiny. Ukraine is part of our European family,” the statement said, adding that the choice of Ukrainians to be in the EU is a choice of peace, democracy, the rule of law, respect for basic rights and prosperity.
The EU states promise to continue to support Ukraine in the political, economic, humanitarian, financial and military spheres, including through rapid coordinated purchases from European industry.
“We will also support the reconstruction of Ukraine, for which we will seek to use frozen and frozen Russian assets in accordance with EU and international law. We will continue to increase collective pressure on Russia to end its war of aggression. To this end, we will adopt the tenth package of sanctions and We will take action against those who try to circumvent EU measures,” the statement said.
The EU states declared their support for President Zelensky’s peace formula and promised to achieve victory in the war against Russia.
“Together with our international partners, we will ensure the victory of Ukraine, respect for international law, the restoration of peace and the territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, the restoration of Ukraine and the establishment of justice. Until that day, we will not stop,” the statement says.
