European Union Film Festival (EUFF) covers all of India

NEW DELHI, November 26 (IANSlife): The European Union Film Festival (EUFF) concluded its physical edition in New Delhi on 13 November and started its virtual edition from 15 November to 15 December 2022. Indian viewers will have access to 35 films in 25 languages ​​spanning 6 genres and they will be able to stream them whenever and wherever they want.

The virtual incarnation of the 27th edition of EUFF will offer audiences a curated store of 30 days of high-quality cinema designed to delight. It offers award-winning films in three sections: Eurorama: shows the latest award-winning films from 27 EU member states; India @ European Film Festivals: sponsored by the Dharamshala International Film Festival, a selection of major Indian films that have participated in prestigious European film festivals; and green cinema: fighting climate change.

The specially created section ‘India @ European Film Festival’ celebrates 60 years of diplomatic relations between the European Union and India and highlights the work of some of India’s most followed filmmakers such as Rajan Khosa, Shrihar Sathi, Reema Das and Shubshish Bhutiani.

The Virtual Film Festival is a great opportunity for all film lovers and people interested in discovering new cultures and histories, accessing films that are not easily available and may not be released at all. The aim of the EU Film Festival is to create cinema through a completely new lens: the curators look at history in a world that can surprise us and offers a completely new perspective on cinema.

Films from India and the 27 EU Member States – Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark – will be screened at the “Free for All” festival organized by the European Union Delegation in India, the embassies of the EU members and regional partners. , Estonia, Finland, France and Germany Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

These films highlight individual stories yet reflect the global experience, providing a ‘window to Europe’ and demonstrating the power of cinema to transcend borders and create shared experiences.

Speaking about the film’s programme, curators Veronika Flora and Valerio Caruso said: “The program of the 27th edition of the European Union Film Festival aims to create a dialogue by accompanying the viewer on a therapeutic journey. The festival offers an intriguing mix of genres and styles, from the jaw-dropping horizons of documentaries to The field of animation is more complex and dynamic than ever, from the sharp laughs of comedy to the emotional touch of animated drama and the powerful world of action.
