Varvara Brailko and Anete Namiķe, European U-20 Beach Volleyball Champions, are still uplifted for great success, but are already preparing for the next tournaments – the European Beach Volleyball Championship and the U-22 European Championship.

Brailko / Namik won gold medals at the European U-20 Championship in Brno, Czech Republic, on Sunday. In a conversation with Latvijas Radio, the athletes admitted that they are very uplifted and run through their thoughts from time to time, how much they have cried before, how much they have experienced. The athletes found that they really enjoyed their triumph, because it would not happen so often.

Varvara revealed that the athletes were initially modest in their goals, fighting with each game. The first victory in the European Championship was important, when our girls were confronted by the Czech Marketa Svozilova / Eliška Tezela – it gave confidence in Varvara and Anete’s ability, especially because in the previous tournament our girls did not win this Czech duo.

Latvian beach volleyball players believe that the girls’ style of play has already been “revived” in Latvia, but at the European level some teams have managed to beat. The girls have felt confident in their strength at the top of the set.

The girls found that they continued to train in pairs throughout the summer, although they were not sure that the season would resume. He has come out to play against the titled Latvian beach volleyball pair Anastasia Kravchenok and Tina Graudina several times, and this has also given the key to success in obtaining the title.

The girls’ ambitions will not stop with this success – the next big challenge will be to take part in the European U-22 Championship, which will start soon in Turkey – there is a good chance there. The girls will also take part in the European Championship, where they will fight for every game, but the biggest challenge is the tournament in Turkey.
